College bound students used to worry about what wardrobes they would take with them and what kind of computers to buy for use in their dorm rooms. Today's students are just as apt to pack a new nose and to get rid of all the things that caused them embarrassment and grief in high school. They want scar removal, stretch mark removal, and perhaps lip enhancement treatments before they get on that train.

Childhood and adolescence are not easy times for anyone. However, some people find the early years more traumatic than others. A number of people are turning to cosmetic surgery or other forms of cosmetic treatment in order to start their college years on the best possible footing.

Left Out of the Social Swing

Female students who felt left out of the social swing of things because of looks are turning to plastic surgeons for such things as the removal of stretch marks, reshaping of noses, or lip enhancement treatments. As one young woman pointed out, students who are dissatisfied with their own looks are likely to lack the confidence to meet new friends and will probably not do well in their studies. The same problem can be found among male students, but fewer of them are turning to plastic surgery as a solution.

Students who were overweight as youngsters and lost weight as they matured often have loose skin left over as a result. They frequently need the help of a plastic surgeon for removal of these stretch marks. Young people who grow up bearing the many marks of childhood accidents, see the doctors for scar removal treatments. Young women who want to resemble their favorite Hollywood stars sometimes turn to doctors for lip enhancement.

Books and bathing suits are no longer enough. Now you can pack a whole new body.
