Natural Health Degrees
What is Natural Health?
Natural Health refers to achieving and maintaining good health, naturally. The concept of natural health involves the air you breathe, the water you drink, the food and liquid you ingest, daily physical movement and activities, resting and sleeping, as well as your human interactions.
Some examples of natural health methods are fasting to cleanse the body, using massage therapy to ease aching muscles, and taking herbal formulas to soothe an irritated throat.
Naturopathy is a non-invasive healthcare and health assessment system that uses neither surgery nor drugs. Natural health practitioners focus on cleansing and strengthening the body, rather than trying to attack specific illnesses.
Training in Naturopathy
If you are interested in obtaining a degree in a natural health science, you have many options available to you.. There are several colleges in the United States that offer these specialized natural health science degrees.
A licensed physician in naturopathy receives training in all of the same basic sciences that an MD receives. However, they also study holistic and nontoxic approaches to therapy with a large emphasis on disease prevention and optimizing wellness.
Graduates of these naturopathy schools not only complete a standard medical curriculum, but they also complete four years of training in clinical nutrition, acupuncture, homeopathic medicine, botanical medicine, psychology, and counseling.
